BASE jumping
Ummm…. wow. So I have been rather captivated by the idea of base jumping. I have gone skydiving, and bungee jumped off of the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland (the same one James Bond jumped off of). But that is just so unbelievably sissy compared to someone BASE jumping off of anything… especially Angel Falls in Venezuela (the highest free-falling waterfall in the world).

I have doing an accelerated freefall program in california, and… i need to base jump. Can somebody recommend a rig and/or a suggested first jump location. I understand jumping spots is like skating a new pool but obviously more lopro. But i have skated sketchy spots and now i want to jump sketchy spots…. any help is appreciated and as a newcomer to the sport….well this is the shit!

Hi Dennis,
Best advice I can give is go around your local DZ’s and try and find a crew who base jump. Offer to ground crew for them so you can get an idea of what its like. They will be able to help you with rigs etc. However I wouldnt recomend going base without having done 200/250 skydives as a minimum.

the biggest thing i want to do in my life is base jumping, but for some reason ive develpoed a fear of jumping off high places. i get really pissed of cause i can bearly get myself to jump of a fifteen foot clift into the water. but im determined.

I am quite happy to skydive, it’s fun and I have now got nearly 100 jumps under my belt but there is no way in hell that I would BASE jump. I have heard from friends that it’s insane but the greatest rush that they have ever felt.

does anyone think it is possive to BASE macchu picchu in peru?? you know that huge cliff you see in all the photos of the ruins? that one. think its jumpable!?
